Forwarding Email: National LUPUS Summit

Below is a copy of the email I received advocating support for Lupus awareness during the 2013 National LUPUS Summit.  I ‘took action’ by submitting my letter to request support of more funding for Lupus research to my local representative.  It was really quite simple to do. All I did was click a ‘take action’ button at the bottom of the email.  It made me feel like I was right there at the summit supporting all the efforts of those Lupus Warriors present! I thought I’d forward a copy to you and encourage you to click the “Take Action” button too!

Dear The Lupus Liar,   Today, more than 250 lupus activists from across the country are on Capitol Hill as a part of the National Lupus Advocacy Summit to ask their Members of Congress to support lupus research funding, access to future lupus treatments, and to raise awareness of lupus.  Join them and make your voice heard! Tell your lupus story to your Senators and Representative and ask them to support:  Lupus research funding by providing $32 billion for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in FY 2014; The Patients’ Access to Treatments Act (H.R. 460), which would help enable patient access to necessary and life-saving medications that are currently financially out of reach because of high out-of-pocket costs associated with specialty tiers and co-insurance.    Learn more about these issues and other legislative priorities.
